The Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) has launched Fomento.AI, a Generative Artificial Intelligence platform developed in partnership with Glintt Next, designed to transform the way employees access, interpret, and use critical information.
According to the institution, the platform enables BPF employees to consult and interpret information more quickly, securely, and consistently using Generative AI.
“Fomento.AI emerges from BPF’s growing need to manage and consult, quickly and securely, a large volume of legal, financial, operational, and regulatory information that was previously dispersed across multiple internal repositories,” the bank states.
“This new tool reinforces our commitment to innovation, placing technology at the service of our employees and the Bank’s public mission. Among other benefits, it will accelerate processes, reduce response times, and ensure greater consistency in document analysis, contributing to a more agile, efficient organization that is better prepared for today’s challenges,” explains Tiago Mateus, Chief Technology and Operations Officer at BPF.
With this solution, BPF employees can search and synthesize information in natural language through conversational assistants, in a secure and user-friendly environment integrated into their daily work. This simplifies and accelerates access to the Bank’s critical information, ensuring greater consistency, security, and efficiency.
“Fomento.AI was designed to ensure security, accuracy, and control over critical information. The use of Generative AI increases internal efficiency and agility while complying with the highest standards of regulatory compliance,” emphasizes Miguel Leocádio, Executive Board Member at Glintt Next.
The platform combines Generative AI models with semantic search mechanisms applied to the Bank’s internal documents. In practice, when a question is submitted to Fomento.AI, the system automatically identifies the documents where the relevant information is located and returns an answer based on content validated by the institution—ensuring security, traceability, and full alignment with BPF’s privacy and compliance policies.
